OJ stuff

Once Upon an Alphabet began as an exercise in the simple joy of storytelling using a finite amount of space—a couple dozen four-page mini picture books—but became the basis for a merchandising concept. Along with a few pals we tried to create ethically produced products under the umbrella of Oliver Jeffers Stuff that launched in the Parisian boutique store Colette in December 2016.

With my collection of prints, apparel, toys and other wares, I want to craft objects that expand the characters and worlds of my stories into the homes and arms of people across the world. While each product originates from my picture books, it is important that they be well-considered objects in their own rights, appealing to folks regardless of whether or not they are aware of my work.

"The products created at OJ Stuff are an extension of the worlds that exist in my stories and art. The characters, narratives and objects of these worlds never quite cease to exist at the edges of the page or canvas."
